Tony G.

Tony G. has got for himself the nick name of The Mouth from Down Under and the The Australian Airbag. Tony G. was born in Melbourne in Australia and was born 1973

Though he has not won any World Series of Poker Bracelet, he has 15 money finishes to his name.

He was born Antanas Guoga in Kaunas in Lithuania but was mostly known by the name Tony G. He is a proficient businessman and professional poker player as well. He always had a knack for mathematics and the art of thinking analytically. As a child, he was the Rubik's Cube champion of Lithuania before he moved to Melbourne at the age of 11 with his family.

He started playing poker when he was 18. The things that set him aside from other poker players are the bizarre and peculiar table talk that he adopts. This can be quite intimidating for his opponents.

At the poker table, Tony G. resorts to this kind of eccentric behavior but away from it he has the most wonderful of disposition and demeanor. He is extremely friendly and easy to get along with.

His winning spree started in the year 2003, when he went on to win the World Poker Tour Grand Prix de Paris 2003 and secured a fifth place for himself. In the same year in the month of June, he won back-to-back tournaments in Russia. These tournaments got him a win of $20,000 and that was just the beginning for him.

In the tournament at WPT Grand Prix de Paris 2004 he stood second place and that earned him $414,478. He was able to get another bigger win for himself in the same month at the WPT 2004 Mirage Poker Showdown.

On August 7, 2005 he won the $5,000 No Limit Hold-Em Main Event of the European Poker Championships which earned him £260,000. This win of his when converted into dollars fetched him $456,822. Later in the year 2005, he was able to make it to the final table of the World Speed Poker Open.

Tony G. is known for his verbal abuse and goading comments for the other poker players who he gets as his opponents. However, he does have a role model in the poker world. Tony G. is more respectful of some players and his favorite is Doyle Brunson. He has even gone on to call him his idol.

In the year 2006 lady luck again favored him in poker and he went on to win the Asian Poker Tour event held in Singapore and was able to win $451,70o. He promised to give away half of this to charities in Asia and Australia.

In 2007, Tony G. appeared on the NBC television program Poker After Dark. He was able to secure a third place behind Phil Ivey.

As of 2009, his total live tournament winnings exceed $3,000,000 out of which his 14 cashes at the WSOP account for $429,897 of those winnings. He continues to remain on a winning spree in the field of poker.
