This web site is our home page, and a page on which we pay tribute to the best poker players in the world...

Todd Brunson

Todd Brunson has earned for himself the nickname of a Darkhorse for the way that he goes on to win the poker game when people least expect him to. He was born and raised in Las Vegas in Nevada in the United States in the year 1969.

His nickname "Darkhorse" also comes from the fact that early on in his career he was always thought of as the underdog but went on to win several matches. Once he was able to win against Chip Reese.

Todd Brunson has earned for himself quite a name in the world of poker what with 55 Cashes and total winnings of $1,559,794. He has had three First Place Finishes and one WSOP Bracelets.

The last win that he had was at Bellagio Cup VI/ WPT Season 9, WPT No Limit Hold'em Championship 41st where he won himself $13,594 on Jul 11, 2010. The thing about Todd Brunson becoming a professional poker player was never actually a great surprise as his father is the legendary Doyle Brunson who is a renowned poker player himself.

However, another surprising thing about this American poker player is that he did not learn the game when he was young. Rather, only when he was away at university studying law at Texas Tech University that he tried his hand at the game of poker. Therefore, no one actually officially went on to teach him rather he taught himself how to ace the game. That is when he realized where his passion lay and he dropped out of school in the senior year to become a professional poker player.

Most of the time, Todd Brunson is found to be playing online poker games. He is quite often seen along with his father at the Bellagio in some of their biggest cash games. Lately, Todd Brunson has been participating more in tournament play.

Todd won himself a bracelet in Omaha High Low at the 2005 World Series of Poker. This was quite a feat as this made the father son duo the first ones to win bracelets at the World Series.

Todd Brunson also contributed to his father's book, called the Super System 2 by contributing the Seven Card Stud High Low Eight or Better section. He competed in the Poker Superstars 2 Grand Final against Johnny Chan and went on to win it.

In 2006, he competed in the Poker Superstars 3 Grand Final against Antonio Esfandiari. This is the match in which Brunson took home the $400,000 first prize. Then again in the very same year of 2006, he competed in the Poker Superstars 2 quarter-finalist's free-roll and took home the $500,000 first prize. His opponent in this poker game was Ted Forrest.

He is known to have won over $13.5 million in a two day span in a heads-up. This must have been one of the highest amounts that were earned by any player.

As of 2010, his total live tournament winnings have been more than $3,300,000. He surely has won more than ever reckoned.
