Who are we?

Hi guys (and girls), welcome to the Team Narnia homepage. We're a young team of poker players from Eastern Europe, and we play in a weekly homegame
This web site is our home page, and a page on which we pay tribute to the best poker players in the world...

Michael Mizrachi

Michael Mizrachi has been nick named the Grinder. How did he get this nick name? Well, he was named so because of the consistent way in which he plays. The style that he has adopted for himself on the poker table is one of great steady moves that ensure that he is able to inch his way upwards slowly and steadily.

His hometown is Hollywood in Florida and he was born in the year 1981. That makes him quite a young American professional poker player. He has gone on to win the World Poker Tour 2005 L.A. Poker Classic and the 2010 World Series of Poker $50,000 Players Championship. Besides these he has been able to finish 5th in the Main Event of the 2010 World Series of Poker. Achieving all of this and such phenomenal amounts of success at such a young age is certainly something to be reckoned with.

Michael Mizrachi lives in Hollywood now but he was born in Miami in Florida.

He comes from a poker playing family and almost has it in his DNA as his brother Robert Mizrachi has gone on to win several WSOP and WPT finishes.

The Grinder Michael Mizrachi has a twin brother called Eric Mizrachi who is also a poker player and a younger brother, Donnie, who is a professional magician. It seems as though the entire family has mastery over some craft be it poker or magic.

The way poker happened to Michael Mizrachi was when he was studying to be a doctor. His dream had always been to be a doctor but when he decided to take up poker full time he dropped out of college and decided to become a professional poker player.

Mizrachi is married to Aidiliy, and has two children, a son called Paul William and a daughter named Julie Malka. He lives in Miramar in Florida with his family.

He purchased a motor home out of his poker winnings with the idea of being able to take his family along with him when he was traveling around the country participating in poker tournaments. However, that was not feasible and he finally sold it.

In early 2010, a federal tax lien was filed against him for not having paid the right amount of taxes that were due from him.

Michael Mizrachi continues to show great prowess on the poker field. In the year 2006, he was able to win CardPlayer Magazine's Player of the Year Award and go on to show the world what a distinguished player he was. His feats on the poker tables have been inspiring and remarkably well thought out moves.

As of 2010, Michael Mizrachi's live tournament winnings have been more than $11,100,000. His 24 cashes at the WSOP make up $4,604,319 of those winnings.

In the year 2005, Mizrachi finished fifth in the World Poker Tour (WPT) World Poker Open at a table that had the likes of great players like Daniel Negreanu and Scotty Nguyen playing at it.
