Who are we?
Hi guys (and girls), welcome to the Team Narnia homepage. We're a young team of poker players from Eastern Europe, and we play in a weekly homegame
This web site is our home page, and a page on which we pay tribute to the best poker players in the world...
Lex Veldhuis
Lex Veldhuis lives at Stevens Point in WI in the United States. However, he was born in was Vlissingen, which is a small town in the Netherlands. He first started playing games when he was very young. Right from the start, Lex Veldhuis was extremely interested in computer games and picked up the strategies and techniques out there.
Right through is teenage years, he played games like Starcraft, and was extremely talented at that. This allowed him to hone his talents and to compete with players around the world. This was how he met Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier. And it was he who first introduced him to the world of online poker. The way it started was Grospellier urged him to try the game and even went on to loan him $10 for it.
Lex Veldhuis was quickly able to learn and use these techniques and strategies and this is what ensured that he was able to start playing in cash games. Eventually, he moved from online games into the tournament scene. This was where he honed his skills in multi-tabling and winning at some high limits.
This was when Lex "Raszi" Veldhuis decided to take the game to casinos in Holland and France and later on came to the United States. He had heard so much about the casinos and poker out here that he wanted to try his hand in Las Vegas.
His first tournament successes came in Europe. He was able to make it to the final table at the Master Classics of Poker in Amsterdam in 2005 and a deep run in the EPT French Open in Deauville in 2006.
In America he wasn't able to gain instant success. However, in the year 2009, Lex Veldhuis was able to emerge a winner. This was at the WSOP $40,000 buy-in NLHE anniversary event. He made it to the final table and finished in seventh place which won him $277,939.
He has fared well in the European circuit and has earned himself a name. He still looks for that elusive win that will catapult him to the big league. He continues to remain a member of Team PokerStars Pro and play online in the highest limit games. His nickname is "RaSZi."
There are 8 cashes to his name and the Total Winnings of $115,090. At the ProRank 1 Position he has been ranked at 366. The most recent of his wins was at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) Season 8/EPT Season 7/NAPT Season 2 where he was placed at 13th position and earned himself $1,860 on Jan 8, 2011.
The one thing notable about him is that is good behavior and the nice disposition that he portrays on the poker tables makes him so very popular with the opponents and spectators as well. He keeps to this demeanor whether he is winning or not.
After several different options in life he chose poker because of his passion for the game. In the year 2007, he entered the international poker arena and there has been no turning back from then onwards.
