Who are we?
Hi guys (and girls), welcome to the Team Narnia homepage. We're a young team of poker players from Eastern Europe, and we play in a weekly homegame
This web site is our home page, and a page on which we pay tribute to the best poker players in the world...
Jennifer Harman
Jennifer Harman was born on November 29, 1964, in Reno, Nevada and is an American professional poker player. She is married to poker player Marco Traniello and they both live in Reno in Nevada.
Jennifer Harman has got 2 Bracelets to her credit and 24 Money finishes. She has got great experience in playing poker as she started playing it way back in the year 1972 when she was only eight years old.
She completed her studies and went on to graduate from the University of Nevada.
She went on to win her first World Series of Poker bracelet in 2000 at No Limit Deuce to Seven Lowball Event. She won this by playing against really seasoned players at a final table. They were Lyle Berman and Steve Zolotow.
The surprising thing was that she did so well in the game although she had never played it before. All that she got was a five-minute briefing from Howard Lederer before playing.
Then, she won her second WSOP bracelet in the year 2002. This was at the $5K Limit Hold 'em event. This was the event in which she was pitted against the likes of Mimi Tran, Humberto Brenes, and Allen Cunningham.
She is the only woman to hold two bracelets in WSOP open events and kudos to her for having achieved this feat.
The first time that Jennifer Harman's father heard about her decision to take up poker professionally he was really upset. This is what brought about a rift between them until recently when they got together again.
In the year 2004, Harman took a sabbatical from poker to have her second kidney transplant. This ailment was hereditary and she had lost her mother in the same ailment when she was just seventeen.
After recovering from the kidney transplant when she returned to poker, she went on to finish 4th at the World Poker Tour Five-Diamond World Poker Classic, 5th in the inaugural Professional Poker Tour event, and 2nd in the WSOP Circuit Championship Event at the Rio. This was a real great comeback for a person who had been away for a year.
Harman is the only woman who plays regularly in the "Big Game", the high-stakes cash game at the Bellagio and this sure is a feather in her cap.
Harman is married Marco Traniello when he was a stylist but since then and on seeing her success he too has joined as a professional poker player. They have twin boys. She is close friends with fellow player Daniel Negreanu.
As of 2010, Harman's total live tournament winnings exceeded $2,300,000. And she gained 24 cashes at the WSOP account for $734,847 of those winnings. She continues to be a great inspiration to the other women players and showcases that things can be achieved with determination and the zeal to do it.
She has certainly come a really long way from when she started playing poker on her kitchen table as a young girl and then moved all the way to the Big Game in Las Vegas.
