Howard Lederer

Howard Lederer has earned the nickname of The Professor for himself. His hometown is Las Vegas in Nevada in the United States and was born October 30, 1964. He is an American professional poker player. He has two illustrious siblings to compete with at home in the form of sister Annie Duke who is also a poker professional, and Katy Lederer who is a renowned author and poet.

Howard Lederer was born in Concord in New Hampshire. His father Richard Lederer is himself a renowned writer and linguist.

Howard Lederer was a young chess talent and probably that is where he was able to hone his skills to be able to do really well in the mastery of the poker game.

After high school he moved to New York City and attended Columbia University. The way things happened was he joined these chess clubs in New York City and at one of these clubs he found his life's true calling and that was poker. Finally, he began playing at the Mayfair Club where there were other famous poker players such as Erik Seidel and Dan Harrington. This is where he was able to pick up the nuances of the game. That is when he decided to move to Las Vegas, Nevada in the year 1994 and play high stakes poker games.
