Who are we?
Hi guys (and girls), welcome to the Team Narnia homepage. We're a young team of poker players from Eastern Europe, and we play in a weekly homegame
This web site is our home page, and a page on which we pay tribute to the best poker players in the world...
Doyle Brunson
Doyle Brunson is a renowned poker player and has gone on to prove that age is no deterrent for the ability to be able to play and win at poker. He was born in the year 1933 and is 77 years old. He continues to remain a professional American poker player who has really done well for himself. He has been playing poker since the last fifty years and has really aced quite a few wins for himself in that time span. He has been able to win for the very first time in poker history, two-time wins at the World Series of Poker and become the main event champion consecutively. This in turn was such an achievement that it went on to make him a Poker Hall of Fame inductee. Doyle Brunson has gone on to author several books on poker and all of these books have been widely read and accepted by the readers.
Doyle Brunson has also earned for himself several nick names that continue to stick to him. These are the Texas Dolly, Big Papa, and The Godfather.
He was born and raised in his hometown Las Vegas, Nevada. The wins to his credit are the maximum number of bracelets which stand at 10. This sure is a phenomenal achievement for anyone. Then there is the feat of being able to finish 24 in the final tables and 34 money finishes. The highest ITM achievement in the Main Event finish in the year 1976 and 1977 was achieved by him.
Doyle "Texas Dolly" Brunson was born in Longworth in Fisher County in Texas. This was a really small place and had only one hundred people living there. His parents had three children and from the start Doyle Brunson had a knack to become an athlete. He was a part of the state basket ball team and practiced running during the basket ball off season to ensure that he was able to keep himself in top shape. However, knee injuries put an end to his dream of becoming a great basket ball player or for that matter even an athlete.
The way he was introduced to poker was before his injury he would end up playing it for entertainment. However, after the knee injury with more and more time to his disposal he was somehow drawn to it and he liked it more and more as the wins from it was able to pay for the treatment for his knee injury.
Then he was invited to play officially for a company to play in a game called Seven Card Stud for a monthly salary. When he realized the money that he could make in this specific profession and of course the knack that he had for it, he took to the game of poker full time.
Since then, there has been no looking back for him. He has loved and enjoyed playing poker for several decades and has gone on to earn himself phenomenal amounts of money as well.
