Who are we?
Hi guys (and girls), welcome to the Team Narnia homepage. We're a young team of poker players from Eastern Europe, and we play in a weekly homegame
This web site is our home page, and a page on which we pay tribute to the best poker players in the world...
Chris Ferguson
Chris Ferguson was born in 1963 and is an American professional poker player.
He has got several achievements in the poker field under his belt such as the five World Series of Poker events that he has gone on to win, and also the 2000 WSOP Main Event, and the 2008 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship.
Chris Ferguson was born in Los Angeles in California to parents who were highly educated. Both his parents were mathematicians and held doctoral degrees in that subject. His father later on taught at the university level game theory and probability.
Chris Ferguson himself is educated and has got a PHD in computer science and the main focus of the thesis was virtual network algorithms. He was able to earn himself this degree in the year 1999.
Chris Ferguson and poker were not new to each other. He started playing poker when he was ten years old. By the time that he was in college he was spending substantial amounts of time in poker chat rooms and learning the ropes of the game as well as doing well for himself by earning money. He first started playing in tournaments in the year 1995 and that was when he participated in the World Series of Poker. This is where Chris Ferguson was able to defeat his opponent T. J. Cloutier at the 2000 WSOP and win himself $1.5 million prize money. Then, iIn 2004, he entered the WSOP main event and was able to win for himself $120,000 and finish in the 26th place. This was out of 2,576 players in all. In the year 2004, Chris Ferguson helped with the website called Full Tilt Poker.
There have been several firsts to his credit. He has been able to earn for himself five bracelets and 63 money finishes. He goes by the nick name Jesus probably because of his long hair and calm demeanor showcased at the poker tables. He lives in Pacific Palisades in California.
Chris Ferguson has had a number of wins to him and defeated several other poker legends at the game. In the year 2010, his total live tournament winnings were more than $8,000,000. Out of this sis 63 WSOP cashes accounted for $4,051,104. He was considered only after the other players like Phil Hellmuth and Men Nguyen.
He had raised a challenge to himself to be able to convert $20,000 to $1 million within a period of just six months and he was able to go ahead and do just that. He has gone on to achieve several such goals and has gone on from one win to another proving his mettle as an ace poker player.
When he first started playing poker he used to wear the wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses to stop people from noticing that he was just a college student. But now they have gone on to become his trademark symbols. The style that he adopts at the poker table is one that is statistically and mathematically inclined and covers a deep understanding of the game.
